Untitled Poem by Eric King

Art_Anarchy.jpg

For some reason in my mind

thinking this would be just fine

Take a few years to relax & unwind

I’ve never eaten well enough to

fret on what’s not there

been ages since I’ve slept

peacefully anywhere

sadness is a cliff top I sometimes think

and moods change as often as I blink

just like I miss the busses burning by

I long for every star burning holes in the sky

passion is fleeting like a tornado

existence is brief but impacts everywhere

that it goes

my memories a strobe light

bouncing back and forth to rhyme

thinking maybe I won’t fuck it up this time

my eyes have no reason to stay dry

they remember every good-bye

they burn with every good cry

thinking the door won’t close

this time

Mail is back, but there’s more..

pen-and-paper

Yesterday, April 13th, Eric and the rest of his pod received all the withheld mail.
Thank you to everyone who responded to the last call for support and sent off postcards, and letters to EK. Let’s keep those letters and postcards coming though!  As always the mail means so much to Eric while he’s going through each and every struggle there at CCA Leavenworth.
In addition to the mail finally coming in yesterday it was also the day that Eric filed a grievance in regards to there not being enough chairs for everyone in the pod. This means that some individuals  in his pod are having to actually sit on the floor or on their bed when eating breakfast , lunch , and dinner.Today in response to the grievance, all of the chairs were removed from the pod and it was stated that nobody in the pod has medical clearance to be assigned a chair. Now everyone in the unit is having to eat while on the floor or on their bed. As per usual at CCA, a reasonable request is met with irrational and abusive responses.
This is what EK continues to go through, so let’s let him know we are out here thinking of him , and fighting for him!

Eric Being Denied Mail–Send More!

Eric just called to let us know that his entire pod has been denied mail for the last two days. When the prisoners demanded to know what happened to their mail, the guards said that it had either been lost or misplaced. The guards also told them to file grievances if they were unhappy about it. Eric reported that other pods have received mail, so he does not know why his pod is being targeted.

Whatever the reasons (if any), it is unacceptable for this vital lifeline to be cut off. Eric and the other prisoners in his pod need to receive the mail that’s sent to them!

If the mailroom insists on “losing” mail, we’ll give them more to have to deal with. Please write Eric a letter or postcard today! When you mail it off, email us to let us know that it was mailed so Eric can be expecting it and file grievances for anything that doesn’t get to him. Our email address is erickingsupportcrew(a)riseup.net.

Eric’s mailing address is:

“One of these days I’m gonna break these chains” a poem by Eric King

crime1

I wake up alone

in a box that ain’t my home

without the love I call my own

people who live  in glass houses

I envy them all

people who live in cages

must throw stones

tear the skin sticking to my bones

got a spoon to dig down straight

only digging the plot to my own grave

if my body can’t , then my mind will escape

my enemy wears authority instead of a face

I wake up alone

but we cannot break

freedom is on the phone

she holds me in one piece

I wake up with a hole

that she fills complete

battered & bruised but on my feet

one day I’ll awake

within a home that’s all our own

we will bury the past

start our own damn show

I wake up with a heart that is filled with gold

love so powerful it could explode.

Eric Moved Back to General Population, Food Situation Marginally Improves

We’ve received confirmation that Eric has been moved out of solitary confinement to general population. He was even able to return to the pod (group of cells) that he had been in prior to being thrown in the hole, where he has friends and connections. We are hoping that his overall well-being will improve with this move, but are not trusting in CCA Leavenworth to have any consideration for him or any other prisoner.

With your support in the form of letters to Eric and calls, emails, and faxes to CCA, Eric has continued to resist the prison’s efforts to break him by providing him with a starvation diet. He has received more food lately, although this is generally just a tray full of beans. The beans are not even seasoned sometimes, which contributes to him getting a stomach ache if he tries to eat the whole tray. When he doesn’t eat all the beans, the guards write down that he refused the meal provided to him. Even in the face of this petty harassment and disregard for his health, he has stood firm on his demand for vegan food.

We are pausing the call-in campaign for the moment to see how his situation changes with his move back to general population. If CCA continues to deny him adequate nutrition and calories, we’ll resume the call-in and ask you all to step up for Eric once again. Your solidarity so far has helped Eric improve his situation while creating demonstrable signs of pressure on CCA Leavenworth and corporate staff. Eric has dealt with some retaliation as a result, but our solidarity is winning out over their fuckery.

“Oh the life of a snitch” a poem by Eric King

070815 michaelhoganDMNratgraphic

Oh, the life of a snitch

you get caught with a ki

won’t even do 3

that’s one hell of a plea

you’re a snitch!

***

Number one on your conspiracy

but you’d rather be free

smooth rolling in P.C.

“he was gonna tell on me”

sure he was, you’re a snitch!

***

You sure like to talk and plan

then turn witness for the man

your life’s more important

trust the community understands

hypocrite anarcho-snitch!

***

Swear “fuck the cops till I die”

prison looks at you and smiles

whoops next day you’re a C.I.

where’d they hide the wire guy?

Slimy recording snitch!

***

Free a thousand bunnies or two

but finger the entire crew

raise your hand and swear to speak the truth

what’d they expect you to do

Greasy Eco-snitch!

Them bronze keys a poem by Eric King

Them bronze keys

o’ they rattle

am i free

or starting battle

Them slammed doors

how they wake

my battered spirit

they tried to break

Them bronze keys

open my food tray

guards watching hard

inspecting how much I ate

Them slammed doors

can hear from afar

do the doors know

how deeply they scar?

Them bronze keys

why do you exist

separation creates pain

and its balled up in my fist
